Family Medicine Core Faculty Physician/Family Medicine Hospitalist
The Department of Family Medicine at NorthShore University HealthSystem, the principal teaching affiliate of The University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine, seeks family physicians who are passionate about teaching family medicine residents and medical students as well as providing care for families to join our faculty.
Family Medicine Core Faculty:
This residency faculty role will include teaching and precepting residents in inpatient adult medical care and outpatient family medicine care, maternal child health care including obstetrical care as well as didactic teaching sessions. The position requires mentorship of residents and residency curriculum oversight. Academic appointment to the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine is awarded to qualified candidates commensurate with experience. Formal faculty development training is available for teaching skills, curriculum design, and clinical scholarship (including publication). Provision of OB care including deliveries and post-partum care is optional.
Family Medicine Hospitalist:
This residency faculty role will focus on teaching and precepting residents and students in inpatient adult medicine. Additional responsibilities include inpatient didactic teaching sessions and curriculum development and oversight. Academic appointment to the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine is awarded to qualified candidates commensurate with experience. Formal faculty development training is available for teaching skills, curriculum design, and clinical scholarship (including publication).
Applicants must be board certified or board eligible in Family Medicine by ABFM or AOBFP. Family physicians with at least two years of teaching experience, and/or fellowship training, and/or a master’s level degree are encouraged to apply. Desirable added qualifications: Spanish-language skills, Sports medicine training, Osteopathic Principles and Practice expertise.
